Engineer Technical Support, Power Electronics (m/w/d)

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
In this role, you will be part of a talented team consisting of engineers who offer in-house advise and support to their colleagues as well as premium service towards our customers. 

This position will make use of knowledge and skillsets of solar product and energy storage experience to provide technical support and engage technical sales activities for Canadian Solar residential energy storage and inverter system.  It will be a direct communication link with salesmen, customers, product management and headquarter personnel abroad to assist with needs and support as defined below
 
Main Tasks  

Sales Support
  • Technical Sales support and 1st level contact for sales for technical or contract related questions
  • Visit customers together with sales managers and conduct product presentations, customer training sessions, webinars and customer events
  • PV project design and proposal support
  • Close collaboration with Product Management and Customer Service in EU and with HQ teams
  • Be the experts in usage and analysis of PVSyst and other PV simulation tools supporting Residential, C&I and Utility scale Solar and Storage designs and production analysis
  • Define, clarify and optimize technical terms within the contract negotiation in alignment with sales
  • Create trusted professional relationships with customers, Sales Managers and technical stakeholders in the market 
  • Support Utility scale projects from technical side EMEA wide 

Product launch and ready-for-sales support
 
  • Development of technical sales tools and/or demonstration kit in collaboration with Product Management
  • Development of Technical sales documentation in collaboration with Product Management
  • Develop product training materials for customer and their potential end customers, including home owners and installers in collaboration with Product Management
  • Hands-on technical with system design, installation and commissioning of CSI based PV+Storage system.  Will need to support customer system design and installation questions pre-sale
  • Advocate of customer needs and requirements 
  • Follow codes and certifications as they develop; analyze their impact on the market and specific products; make recommendations to management on how to leverage these developments to CSI’s benefit

  • Fluent in Czech an/or Slovak
  • Any other language e.g. Polish, Romanian are a plus
LOCATION
  • Remote work from Slovakia, Czech Republic or Poland
Your backpack is filled with
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or comparable; Master’s degree is a plus 
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in sales engineering, technical sales, or product management, ideally in the energy storage sector within the Utility PV industry 
  • Installation experience with PV module and battery storage system is a strong plus
  • Excellent technical aptitude and ability to quickly learn detailed information about the existing product portfolio and to communicate and answer technical and product related questions and topics
  • Understanding and application of financial product calculation – product cost and product sales price definition, analysis and recommendation
  • Convincingly and effectively communicate with customers, installer, homeowners, Residential PV integrators, industry working groups and regulatory authorities
  • Valid driver license, required
